Another hidden gem minutes away from Tinners Rest, rumoured to have been created by miners for the local children.
Enjoy a spot of wild swimming in a clear tranquil pool with views across our rugged coast and out to the choppy Atlantic.
1) Start from parking areas by Pendeen Watch, or walk from Tinners Rest.
2) Once at Pendeen Watch, turn right to follow the road (which turns into a track) down towards Boat (Fisherman's) Cove.
3) Access is via some rather sea weathered concrete steps to the left of the fishing buildings at Boat Cove. ☝ Please take care on short climb down to the rock-pool, as once the steps end you will have to walk over large rocks, which can be slippy. If in doubt, scoot along on your bottom!
Accessing the pool may be challenging for smaller children and elderly people. Not recommended as a dog-friendly activity, however Boat Cove is a great place for dogs!
The pool remains full through all tides, but is probably best avoided at high tides, as the waves often crash over the top of the rocks. Look to our tide clock in the living room for the best time to go!
Top tip: Water shoes or a pair of waterproof sandles are recommended to protect your feet from any sharp rocks or shells. A wet-suit also provides some extra padding when getting in and out.
The pool is mostly shallow (about 4ft), with 2 deeper spots (about 6-7ft), which are easy to spot in the clear water. Jumping in is at your own risk.
Enjoy!
